The Marathon Project.
The #1 goal on my 30′s Bucket List is to complete a marathon. 26.2 miles. In doing so, I will have completed each classic running race distance before my 30th birthday!
Over the past 4 months, I’ve settled back in to somewhat of a schedule, or at least learned to live in organized chaos. I’ve started really prioritizing athletics again, my diet has returned to normal/healthyish, and I’m trying to always make time for family, friends, and fun!
I have still been missing one thing though…writing. I’ve decided that since I can’t seem to organize my day into words any longer, I’d start a new series in Cue Your Life directly dedicated to this marathon journey! I feel good knowing that the subject matter is already decided…all I have to do it write!
My desire is to motivate. To motivate myself, to actually take the time to both train and write. And…to motivate you. I constantly hear my working friends/family talk about the time they would need added to their day in order to get in shape, feel strong, and be healthy. I’ve heard again and again that “one day” the time will be there…but for now, it’s just impossible. For the past 4 months, I’ve been there too.
This is where my project begins. I aim, first and foremost, to defeat the idea that there isn’t time to reach a goal that you’ve set for yourself. Be it an education, a hobby, a family or friend committment, a healthy lifestyle, or just to make some time for yourself…any goal you desire to reach, regardless of your schedule, is within reach!
I am 29 years old. I am a single mother, a girlfriend, a friend, a housekeeper/lawnmower, a daily breakfast/lunch/dinner preparer, and a volunteer. I work 40-50 hours per week as a staffing consultant and recruiter…and starting tomorrow, I am committing to train for a marathon.
